OCCAR-EA Director signs Amendment No 6 of TIGER Global Support Contract

Bonn, Germany, 23 April, 2024 – The OCCAR-EA Director, Mr. Joachim Sucker, has signed the sixth amendment to the Global Support Contract on behalf of France, Germany and Spain with SAFRAN Electronic & Defense, for the procurement of activities related to the STRIX Sight System within the French and Spanish HAD Helicopter fleets and to covers also the support and Maintenance Level 3 (ML3) activities for the OSIRIS Sight System within the German UHT Helicopter fleet.

The TIGER has been successfully operated by France, Germany and Spain in several missions in Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia and Mali. During these operations, the TIGER has demonstrated its precise and versatile combat capabilities and has demonstrated a remarkable flexibility of deployment that it would not have been possible without those 2 system optronic viewer.

Thus, through the Global Support Contract Amendment n° 6, the three TIGER nations reaffirmed their confidence in SAFRAN, including in the Contract all necessary services to be performed by the Contractor for the next 5 firm years, with the aim of maintaining the operational readiness of STRIX and OSIRIS Sights.
