European MALE RPAS launch event at ILA Air show

On 23 June 2022, some months after contract signature, Airbus Defence & Space GmbH (ADS), European MALE RPAS prime contractor, introduced the official launch of the programme during ILA Air show. In presence of the 4 programme participating states (Germany, France, Italy, Spain), the European Commission and industry partners (Leonardo, Dassault and Airbus Defence & Space SAU), ADS CEO, Mickael Schoellhorn and OCCAR Director, Matteo Bisceglia, explained how this programme was set to be the most advanced MALE RPAS in the market while strengthening Europe’s sovereignty with unparalleled competencies in the field of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Then the newly updated 1:1 mock-up was presented together with a digital holographic tool to illustrate the main key features of the system including but not limited to first in class sensors (EO/IR and radar), highest connectivity, time on station, safety and security. The programme is currently progressing in its first and second key milestone with the Integrated Baseline Review and the Requirement Allocation Review.
