Livorno/Italy, 22 November 2024 - The 19th PPA Programme Committee was held in the historical and prestigious location of the Italian Naval Academy in Livorno, chaired by the Programme Committee Representative - Vice Admiral Giuseppe Abbamonte and attended by representatives of the Participating State (Italy), OCCAR-EA and Industry.
The meeting was an important opportunity to update the Programme Committee representatives on the progress of the Programme, informing them about the high-level objectives and milestones achieved to date, as well as the main activities carried out during the reporting period and the next objectives to be achieved within the Programme.
On this occasion, Amendment Nr.8 for the PPA Programme was signed by the Temporary Consortium, between Fincantieri and Leonardo Company, represented by Eng. Fulvio Palermo. The document was signed by OCCAR-EA Director, Joachim Sucker, on behalf of Italy on 25 November 2024.
The Amendment was awarded to increase the contractual provisions, to expand Temporary Support and to introduce several technical changes (ECPs). To date, the Programme is in a mature stage, as the first four units of the class, “Thaon di Revel” (PPA1), “Francesco Morosini” (PPA2) “Raimondo Montecuccoli” (PPA3) and Giovanni delle Bande Nere (PPA4) have been successfully delivered by OCCAR-EA to the Italian Navy.
