Power4Future Production Facility for U212 NFS Lithium Battery Systems Inaugurated

 Piedimonte San Germano/Italy- 16 July, 2024  - A brand new, modern, state of the art Power4Future facility has been inaugurated which will house a production line for lithium battery systems for the Near Future Submarine (NFS) Programme. These systems can also be used to equip and upgrade the older class U212A and other underwater platforms based on Air Independent Propulsion.

The ceremony was attended by key figures from the Italian Government and Industry leaders, including Mr. Piero Grillo, Fincantieri SI’s CEO; Mr. Gianfranco Natali, Faist Holding’s President; Mr. Fabio Patti, P4F’s CEO; and Vice Admiral Giuseppe Abbamonte, Director for Naval Armament. Their presence highlighted the importance of this development for the nation and the industry.

During his speech, Mr. Maurizio Cannarozzo, OCCAR´s  NFS Programme Division Programme Manager, emphasized the importance of the new facility in advancing naval technology and supporting the NFS programme.
