On Site Review of Eurodrone Flight Management Computer completed by Certification and Qualification Software and Hardware Panel

Huskvarna/Sweden 28-30 October 2024 – In the context of the detailed design of the Eurodrone, the Certification and Qualification Software and Hardware Panel composed of nation’s experts, OCCAR MALE RPAS Programme Division Staff and industry representatives from Airbus GmbH formally audited the Flight Management Computer design status at the SAAB facility in Sweden.

Spanning a two-day period, the panel could review the positive progress of the development regarding the Flight Management Computer, an equipment DAL A which is the heart of the RPA flight capability. The SOI#2 (Stage Of Involvement) audit objective was to confirm that the Design Assurance guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware (ED-80/DO-254) is correctly applied by SAAB.

OCCAR and the nations’ experts were satisfied with level of maturity of this critical item paving the way towards fulfilment of the Eurodrone first flight.
