OCCAR-EA presents U212 NFS Programme at NAVY TECH 2024


 

Tallinn, 1 February 2024 - NAVY TECH is a four-day conference event dedicated to naval defence and maritime safety and security, this year held in Tallinn, Estonia for the first time. This year´s conference theme was “Enabling a System of Systems Approach”. The panel presentations aimed to describe various Navies´ approaches to the continuous and rapid technological developments c presently affecting naval systems, determined by the current unstable geopolitical context. A special focus was dedicated to littoral and shallow water applications.

Captain Vasco Pizzinato, OCCAR-EA´s Senior Combat System Officer of the U212 NFS Programme Division held a presentation entitled “NFS Programme as a Developing Base for Underwater Domain Systems innovations”. Captain Pizzinato presented the audience with an overview of the current U212 NFS Programme status, with a particular focus placed on the new developed system and related implemented design approach.

With almost 500 attendees from 40 nations and 90 industries and a wide set of interesting and focused analyses, the conference provided a broad and updated global view of the key aspects that must be considered within the procurement of complex defense systems.
