Bonn/Germany, 14 May 2025 – A successful “Industry Day” was organised
by the OCCAR Programme Management Support Division (PMSD) and held at the OCCAR-EA
Bonn Site premises as part of a pre-market consultation of potential
contractors to deliver the EGC (Engin du Génie de Combat).
The aim of such Industry Days is to clearly communicate
OCCAR-EA’s role in the procurement of EGC, and to outline the main programmes
objectives, requirements and schedule. It also provided an opportunity for
potential contractors to conduct private discussions with OCCAR-EA and customer
organisations in an informal setting.
EGC is a future Combat Engineering vehicle, armoured and armed,
for the French and Belgian Armed Forces.
The EGC Programme, which is currently under integration, and is managed
by OCCAR-EA, will deliver up to 200 vehicles with the first production
deliveries expected in 2031.
Selection of a suitable Prime Contractor will be via a Competitive
Negotiated Procedure. The Industry Day provided essential early engagement in
advance of issuance of Contract Notice expected by end of the year.
The day was very well attended by with 45 representatives
comprising OCCAR, national customer organisations and potential industry
suppliers of several potential European contractors and sub-contractors,
providing ideal networking opportunities for potential commercial
partnerships.
