OCCAR-EA Director welcomes European Defence Agency (EDA) Deputy Chief Executive at OCCAR-EA Headquarters

Bonn/Germany 9 April, 2025 – The OCCAR-EA Director, Mr. Joachim Sucker welcomed the European Defence Agency (EDA) Deputy Chief Executive, Major General André Denk, at the OCCAR-EA premises at its headquarters located in Bonn for informal consultations.

Discussions focused on the current European defence landscape with a strong focus on possible areas of further cooperation for both EDA and OCCAR in the near future. They furthermore exchanged views on the overall geopolitical situation, highlighting the importance of the capabilities of International Organisations (IO) for the management of complex, cooperative defence equipment programmes stressing the benefit of multinational cooperation for all involved stakeholders.

Regular consultative meetings between leaders such as this latest one between OCCAR-EA Director Sucker and EDA Deputy Chief Executive Major General Denk continue to positively strengthen OCCAR’s important network throughout Europe, which is an essential part of OCCAR’s work as the Organisation acts as broker between nations and industry alike further enhancing productive cooperation in the armament arena in and for Europe.
