OCCAR-EA Director participates in Baltic Defence College Annual Conference on Russia 2025

Tartu, Estonia – 06 March 2025 OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation)-EA Director,  Joachim Sucker, participated in a panel discussion at the annual Conference on Russia hosted by the renowned Baltic Defence College in Tartu, Estonia entitled „War Economics in Russia, Ukraine and NATO, “which focused on the varying approaches for adapting an economy to a military scenario.

As an expert on the management of complex, cooperative European armament efforts, Mr. Sucker outlined the current developments for OCCAR Participating and Member States within the OCCAR Framework since the beginning of the war in Ukraine three years ago. His presentation focused on OCCAR´s substantial growth with the recent integration of a wide range of new programmes as a result of the proactive cooperative approach nations have adopted to share the financial burden of procurement and pool resources efficiently.

Mr. Sucker’s visit also included a meeting with the Commander of the Baltic Defence College, Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis. Mr. Sucker took the opportunity to underline OCCAR’s aim to establish and maintain important network between all relevant stakeholders in the military domain and emphasised OCCAR’s ability to deliver defence capabilities at best value for money for all nations involved.
