Athens/Greece 6-8 May, The Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikos Denidas inaugurated the International Exhibition for Defence, Security and Technology - DEFEA 2025 on 6 May, 2025, emphasising that the Defence industry, scientific research and innovation are the core of the national defence strategy of the Hellenic Republic.
The OCCAR-EA Director, Mr. Joachim Sucker, concluded what he deemed as a very productive and successful two-day visit to DEFEA – The Hellenic Republic´s largest annual defence exhibition.
Concluding his visit, the OCCAR- EA Director was invited for an interview to reflect on his first visit to the exhibition by DEFEA´s press office. He warmly thanked the Hellenic Republic and its Ministry of National Defence, under whose auspices DEFEA is organised for their gracious invitation to host his visit, as well as very generously provide OCCAR with a prominent platform with an OCCAR stand, providing the Organization with the opportunity to present itself to a large number of leading stakeholders in the global defence sector.
During his visit Mr. Sucker held important consultations with the National Armaments Director of the Hellenic Republic, Major General Ioannis Bouras, and the Director of the Hellenic Navy Armaments Directorate, Rear Admiral Panagiotis Karavas.
The OCCAR-EA Director also consulted with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Vasilis Palmas, as well as attending numerous high-level meetings with senior industry representatives.
