OCCAR Signs Interim Mine Neutralisation Solution Contract with Saab for the United Kingdom


Paris/ 2 July 2026 - The Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation (OCCAR), acting on behalf of the United Kingdom, has signed a contract with Saab for the delivery of an Interim Mine Neutralisation Solution (MNS) under the OCCAR managed Maritime Mine Counter Measures (MMCM) Programme, supporting the rapid provision of critical operational capability to meet urgent defence requirements.

The contract marks a significant milestone in the MMCM Programme and reflects the strong cooperation between OCCAR, the United Kingdom and industry partners. Delivered at pace, the agreement demonstrates the agility and efficiency that can be achieved when all stakeholders work together towards a common objective.

By transforming urgent operational requirements into contractual outcomes within a compressed timeframe, the project highlights the effectiveness of cooperative defence procurement and programme management. The new capability will strengthen mine countermeasure operations and contribute to the continued protection of maritime security interests.
