OCCAR Director visits HYDEF full-scale model at ILA Berlin Air Show

Berlin, Germany - 10 June 2026 - On the occasion of the ILA Berlin Air Show (Internationale Luft- und Raumfahrtausstellung) and in his role as HYDEF contracting authority, OCCAR Director Joachim Sucker visited the Diehl Defence booth, featuring the HYDEF full-scale model.

During the visit, he was accompanied by Air Force General Francisco Braco, Chief of Staff of the Spanish Air and Space Force (JEMA), and representatives from Diehl Defence and Sistemas de Misiles de España (SMS).

During ILA Berlin 2026, Diehl Defence and SMS- company jointly owned by Sener Aeroespacial, Escribano Mechanical & Engineering, GMV, and Instalaza - signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to reinforce their long-standing partnership and shared commitment to European security, bringing together leading defence and space companies, particularly in countering hypersonic and next-generation threats. The signing ceremony was attended by high-level representatives from Germany and Spain.
