NSPA OCCAR-EA Bilateral meeting in Bonn, Germany

On 25 September 2023, the OCCAR-EA Director, Mr. Joachim Sucker welcomed the NSPA General Manager, Ms. Stacey A. Cummings for this year´s bilateral meeting in Bonn, Germany. Both parties shared the same view that the best way to increase defence equipment standardisation and interoperability and to obtain best value for money in the defence capability development arena, is to avoid duplication of effort. They agreed that cooperation between the international organisations they lead and not competition is the way to success. Both OCCAR and NSPA have specific strengths which, through the MMF programme, have been proven to be complementary. Taking advantage of each other’s strengths allows programmes to be managed in a way that fully satisfies objectives of time, cost and performance. The Director and General Manager agreed to further investigate possible future cooperation opportunities. Both organisations are currently preparing to have their MoU approved through their respective governance structures.
