MUSIS Critical Design Review (CDR) Official Closure

On 22/04/2021 the Multinational Space-based Imaging System – Common Interoperability Layer (MUSIS-CIL) Critical Design Review has been successfully closed achieving the completion of system’s development phase. CIL detailed design including its logical and physical architecture is now fully defined.

As the system will be used also for intelligence applications, particular attention has been paid in defining the security architecture in order to guarantee data confidentiality by allowing, in the same time, system flexibility to maximize its performances. An important output of this phase was also the definition of the In Service Support Plan (ISSP) that will guide the negotiation of the ISS activities to be included in the future support contract. A detailed Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) analysis together with that about Life Cycle Costs (LCC) will be used to predict the behavior of the system during its operational life.

Currently, coding activities are ongoing and they will be followed by those for sub-systems integration and test.
