Bonn/Germany, 13 December 2024, OCCAR-EA Director, Joachim Sucker, and the industrial consortium represented by Naval Group have signed the contract for the European Naval Collaborative Surveillance Operational Standard (E-NACSOS) Programme.
The aim of the E-NACSOS Programme is to enhance interoperability between national navies, through the definition of a common Naval Collaborative Surveillance and Engagement Capability Standard to be able to tackle new and asymmetric threats from the Anti-Air-Warfare / Air & Missile Defence domain as well asimproving early warning, track recognition and identification, thereby providing a shared tactical picture with improved continuity.
The E-NACSOS Programme covers the preparation and definition studies up to the initial design, prototype and associated testing. The standard aims at being implemented onboard existing and future vessels’ combat system architectures. E-NACSOS will establish the basis for a future collaborative combat capability.
This new four-year OCCAR Programme is co-funded by the European Union and by eight Participating States: France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Greece. In parallel, the Republic of Estonia contributes to the E-NACSOS capability through a national contract.
