a4ESSOR celebrates 15 year anniversary of the ESSOR Programme at Eurosatory 2024

Paris, 19 June 2024 – This week at Eurosatory 2024, the global event for defence and security, a4ESSOR SAS celebrated the 15-year anniversary of the ESSOR Programme, launched in 2009 with the objective of enabling communication between radio terminals provided by different manufacturers.

On the occasion a panel of speakers highlighted the central role of OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) and a4ESSOR SAS to achieve such an objective and to contribute to improve interoperability of NATO forces during real operations and joint exercises.

OCCAR-EA´s Head of Programmes, Mr. Darren Ash, recalled the pivotal role the ESSOR Participating States, Germany, France, Finland, Italy, Poland and Spain that have invested substantial effort and resources into making the Programme a success.

A number of important milestones have been achieved to date: the ESSOR technology is being adopted by NATO as a standard for ground forces interoperability, Federated Mission Networking including the ESSOR waveform specification in its roadmap for achieving a “zero-day interoperability” and there is a suitable CONOPs that backs the usage of the ESSOR ground centric waveforms.
