6th HYDIS User Workshop Successfully Completed

Paris, France 28-29 April 2025, experts from the HYDIS participating Nations (DE, FR, IT and NL) and the MBDA Programme Integrated Team gathered for the 6th technical Workshop of HYDIS, which took place at MBDA France in Le Plessis-Robinson.

During the first working day, an engaging and productive technical exchange took place focusing on potential radar sensor architecture design, that could support the operational employment of the future high-performance interceptor.

In particular, the discussion focused on the current and the upcoming national radar capabilities, which could represent the backbone of the integrated HYDIS weapons system architecture.

The two-day meeting further offered the opportunity to dive more in-depth into some crucial aspects of the interceptor’s life cycle support, focusing on the environmental challenges and the weapon system’s sustainability, mobility, and resiliency during the operational deployments in harsh environmental conditions, including those encountered at sea.

The outcomes of Workshop 6 will provide the Consortium with further inputs and data to assist the analysis concerning the selection of the two most promising interceptor concepts, that will be carried out during the next HYDIS programme milestone: the Initial Concept Review (ICR).

“The European Hypersonic Defence Interceptor System” (HYDIS) is a project co-funded by the European Union, under the European Defence Fund, and by four Participating States (PSs) which are France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. OCCAR has been entrusted by the European Commission (EC) for the indirect management of the action by the signature of a Contribution Agreement.
