The Start / Induction

Newly appointed staff to OCCAR will receive the respective “Newcomers Guide” which will give them some basic information regarding the organisation and the duty station they will be working.

Shortly after new staff take up duty a “Newcomer briefing” is carried out by HRD. The aim of the briefing is to provide new staff members a general overview of the Organisation’s structure, a basic understanding of the rules and regulations, and some information about the status as OCCAR-EA employee.

However, it is well recognised that the staff member will require further assistance just prior to and upon arrival, usually of a local nature. For this reason HRD will appoint as a “Sponsor” a member of staff from the area of employment of the newcomer.

The benefits of this comprehensive approach to induction will hopefully make it easier for the new staff member to integrate more quickly, both into the local environment and to OCCAR.
